The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has announced its competition for essay submissions in coordination with 2011 World Standards Day.The theme for this year's paper competition is, "Advancing Safety and Sustainability Standards Worldwide." This theme recognizes the valuable roles codes, conformity and standardization play by accelerating innovation, creating harmonized communication for trade and developing solutions for critical challenges worldwide.
Cash prizes of $2,500 will be awarded to the top three submissions. Winners will be announced at the World Standards Day celebration which will take place at the Fairmont Hotel in Washington, D.C. October 13, 2011. Entries must be received by midnight, August 12, 2011 at the home office if The Society for Standards Professionals.
